Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 300 ml cream
- 200 ml milk
- 1 vanilla pod(s)
- 50 g sugar
- 2 sheets of gelatin
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 4 hours; Total time approx. 4 hours 20 minutes
Pour the cream and milk into a pan. Split the vanilla pod lengthwise and add it to the cream mixture along with the scraped-out seeds. Add the sugar. Bring everything to a boil while stirring, then simmer gently, partially covered, over low heat for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, soak the gelatin leaves in cold water. Remove the cream mixture from the heat. Lightly squeeze the soaked gelatin leaves and dissolve them in the cream mixture while stirring. Rinse the serving molds with cold water and fill with the cream. Chill for at least 4 hours. Then remove from the serving molds (important). This recipe is written for small serving molds; if a large mold is used, more gelatin must be stirred into the cream mixture. You can serve this with a quick sauce made from seasonal fruits, but a chocolate or caramel sauce is also very good. This recipe is high in calories and not suitable for diabetics.
