Party gourmet pot with pork

Spread the love

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 600 g onion(s)
  • 350 g bacon, streaky, smoked
  • 600 g Mettenden
  • 1.2 kg pork goulash
  • 800 g tomatoes, peeled, from the can
  • 200 g sour cream
  • 250 ml whipped cream
  • 225 ml tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp thyme, dried
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 35 minutes

Peel the onions and slice into rings. Cut the bacon and mettenden sausages into thick slices. Layer everything with the goulash and tomatoes, including their juices, in a large roasting pan. Slightly crush the tomatoes. Mix together the sour cream, cream, and ketchup and season generously with salt, pepper, and thyme. Pour the sauce over the meat. Cover and braise in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat), 175°C (fan oven), gas mark 3, for about 2 hours. For the last 30 minutes, uncover the dish and finish braising. Serve with baguette or farmhouse bread and a fresh salad. This gourmet pot is also great to prepare in advance: simply layer all the ingredients in the morning and chill the pot. Place it in the hot oven about 2 hours before guests arrive.
