Penne with earthworm bolognese

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 250 g penne or other pasta
  • salt water
  • 200 g minced meat
  • Paprika powder
  • salt and pepper
  • some chili, maybe
  • ½ bottle of tomato ketchup
  • 200 ml water
  • 150 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cook the penne as usual in salted water, drain, and rinse. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, combine the water, tomato ketchup, and plenty of seasoning, and bring to a boil. Then, without stirring, add the minced worms (carefully pull the minced worms apart with a fork to avoid crushing the “threads”) to the hot sauce and bring back to a boil. Stir gently. This preserves the worm-like appearance. Arrange the penne on plates, pour the “worm sauce” in the center, and top with grated cheese, and serve. You can also fry the “minced worms” in hot oil until crispy, then gently stir them just before the end, turning them over, and serve them on pasta or risotto with cheese or tomato sauce. Perfect for Halloween.
