Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 jar rice
  • 2 glasses of water
  • 2 tbsp margarine
  • 2 tbsp noodles (rice noodles – Arpa Sehriye)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp chicken broth powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Turkish rice

Wash the rice. Melt the margarine in a saucepan, then fry the arpa sehriye until light brown (it’s important to add the arpa sehriye to the hot oil at the same time so they brown evenly). Add the rice and fry briefly. Add the water, bring to a boil, and add salt and stock. Reduce the heat to low and let the rice simmer with the lid on for 30 minutes. Turn off the heat, remove the pan from the heat, and stir everything once. Place a sheet of kitchen paper over the pan, cover, and let simmer for another 10 minutes.
