the muesli for young and old for early and late
Heat the milk and in the meantime prepare the “Miasl” (a kind of pudding). Cut the bananas into not-too-thick slices and the apples into cubes. Sprinkle the diced apples with cinnamon. Then place the fruit in a bowl and pour the hot milk over it. Add cocoa powder, if desired, and carefully stir the oatmeal into the mixture—be careful not to add too much, otherwise it will become too thick and mushy. Stir well, taste, and then add more oats if desired. Sweeten to taste with a little sugar, if desired. Serve the whole thing in a large bowl so everyone can scoop out the oats with their spoons, or divide them into small bowls. Warning: It’s quite filling! This was my favorite dish as a child and I still sometimes eat it today when I’m craving something sweet.
