Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 15 g yeast
  • 300 ml water, lukewarm
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp oil (olive oil)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Dissolve the yeast in the water. Then add the remaining ingredients and knead everything into a firm dough. Let it rise under a cloth for one hour. Shape the dough into a 2 cm thick log. Roll each 1 cm thick disc into small balls. Cover and let rise for another 10 minutes. Roll each ball into an oval disc with a rolling pin. Place on a greased and floured baking sheet in a preheated oven at 250°C (480°F) for 8 to 10 minutes, until the pita breads have puffed up.
