Plum compote grandma's style

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g plum(s) or damsons
  • 50 g sugar, possibly more
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 300 ml red wine
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • some water to mix

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash, pit, and quarter the plums. In a saucepan, caramelize the sugar until light yellow, deglaze with the red wine, and simmer until the sugar dissolves. Then add the plums, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon stick and simmer over low heat until soft. Mix the cornstarch with a little water, add, and bring to a boil. Season to taste with sugar, if desired.
