Potato goulash

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes, peeled, diced
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds, whole or ground
  • 1 tbsp marjoram, dried
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, squeezed
  • possibly tomato paste
  • 4 sausages, Vienna, sliced
  • 500 ml water
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Soup powder
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • Fat, for sautéing

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Goulash with potatoes and sausages

Peel and finely dice the onions, then sauté in the fat. Add the diced potatoes and fry. Add the spices and pour in the water. Simmer for about half an hour, stirring occasionally. When the diced potatoes are soft, mix the flour with water and stir into the boiling goulash. Season to taste with soup mix, or thicken to taste. Finally, stir in the sausage slices and heat until hot. Serve with rolls, bread, or pretzels.
