Around 1900 there were even Potthucke clubs
Grate the raw potatoes. Mash the cooked potatoes. Mix everything with the eggs and cream and season generously with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Finely dice the bacon and fry in a pan. Add it to the potato mixture. Grease a pot (Pott) to match the potato mixture, pour in the mixture, and bake at 200 degrees Celsius for about 45 minutes. Then let it cool slightly and turn it out. According to the original recipe, the Potthucke is cooled and sliced and fried crispy on both sides in butter in a pan. Serve with salad.
