Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,000 g sweet cherries, pitted
  • 1 liter of water
  • 250 g sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Boil a sugar solution from 1 liter of water and 250 g of sugar and set aside. Boil only until the sugar is dissolved. Briefly wash the cherries in cold water, remove the stems, and pit them. Place 500 g of cherries into a 1-liter jar and pour over 450 ml of sugar-water. Seal the jars securely and boil for 30 minutes at 80 degrees Celsius. This recipe makes two 1-liter jars. Sour cherries can also be preserved using this recipe. However, the amount of sugar should be increased to 500 g per liter of water.
