Quark and Honey Buns

The perfect quark and honey buns recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Whole wheat flour
  • 250 g Lowfat quark
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 3 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Honey stirred in a little warm water for brushing

Mix the dough together

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 ° – 200 ° C, put a fire-proof pot with water in it 5 minutes before the start of baking. Mix the quark, egg and honey, mix the flour with the baking powder and sift into the quark. This will make the buns rise better. Knead the dough well with the hand mixer. Let rest for 10 minutes. Shape small dough pieces with WET HANDS. Place on a greased tray or, better still, lined with baking paper, not too close together. Bake in the middle for about 5 minutes, then brush with honey water. Bake for about 15 minutes until the rolls are the “right” color. They taste best warm “without anything”, but also with “just butter” or other sweet spreads! Enjoy your meal!
