Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg meat (gyro meat)
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1 cup of crème fraîche or crème legere
- 1 bottle of sauce (cocktail sauce)
- 1 bag of cheese, grated (for gratinating)
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes
Brown the seasoned gyro meat in a pan. Meanwhile, combine the cream with the crème fraîche and the cocktail sauce, season with salt and pepper. Transfer the browned meat to a casserole dish, pour the sauce over it, and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) on the middle rack until the cheese is golden brown, about 20 minutes. I serve it with rice or baguette and salad.
