Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 ½ kg pear(s) – quince or other
  • 2 m.-sized pomegranates
  • 2 m.-sized pear(s)
  • ½ lemon(s), the juice
  • 1 pack of gelling sugar, 3:1

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

Rub and peel the quinces with kitchen paper, then remove the cores, chop them up, and place them in water with lemon to prevent them from browning further. Add the seeds, the remaining pulp, and the pomegranate juice. Peel and core the pears, then chop them up as well. Simmer until the quinces are soft. Add the fruit at different times, as cooking processes and times vary. First the quinces, then the pears, and finally the seeds, with the fruit and the pomegranate juice. Put the pear and quince through a food mill and then return it to a saucepan. Only then do you add the gelling sugar (3:1) to the mixture and cook according to the instructions, 4 minutes. Pour the finished jam into clean, hot twist-off jars and seal them.
