- ¾ cup(s) mayonnaise (sour cream)

- 2 tsp vinegar (red wine vinegar)

- ½ tsp chives, chopped
- ½ tsp mustard (Dijon mustard)
- ½ tsp celery seeds
- 1 ½ tsp shallot(s), chopped

The cup volume should be approximately 250 ml. Whisk all ingredients in a large bowl. Refrigerate the dressing for at least 1 hour before serving. It tastes great as a salad dressing, but also makes an excellent dip for carrots and celery. It’s often served with chicken wings in the US.
