Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 300 g butter
  • 300 g sugar
  • 300 g flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 6 eggs
  • ⅛ liter red wine
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 100 g chocolate, dark, grated
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • Wine, red
  • Water, hot

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Beat soft butter until fluffy. Add sugar, then eggs. Mix flour with baking powder and stir into the batter along with the remaining ingredients. Finally, fold in the grated chocolate. Pour into a greased and crumbled bundt or loaf pan and bake at 175°C for about 45-50 minutes. Turn the cake out and let it cool. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with equal parts red wine and water until thickened. Spread it over the cake. The cake will keep for a whole week and will improve every day, so you can bake it a day or two in advance and refrigerate it.
