Red Wine Cake with Spelled Flour

The perfect red wine cake with spelled flour recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Soft butter
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 2 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 250 g Spelled flour
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 2 tbsp Apple pie seasoning:
  • 2 tbsp Cinnamon, clove or alternatively
  • 2 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • 100 g Chocolate sprinkles
  • 100 g Ground almonds
  • 0,25 liter Pinot Noir
  • Powdered sugar
  • Ground almonds
  • Rapeseed oil

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees!

  1. Then beat the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and eggs until frothy. Meanwhile, mix the flour and baking powder and gradually stir into the egg mixture!
  2. Then stir in the apple pie spice or cinnamon, cocoa powder, chocolate sprinkles, almonds and red wine.
  3. Grease the wreath baking pan and sprinkle with ground almonds. Pour in the dough evenly and let the mold fall lightly onto the work surface so that the dough spreads out nicely! Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes! Cool in the pan and then cool on a kitchen rack! Then sprinkle with powdered sugar! Serve!
