Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 225 g flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch(s) of sea salt, fine
  • 40 g butter, soft
  • 1 tbsp petals (rose petals), dried
  • 2 tsp sugar (or rose sugar)
  • 100 ml milk
  • 50 ml rose water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

makes about 8 pieces

In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and butter; mix into a crumbly mixture. Stir in the petals and sugar, then mix with the milk and rose water to form a soft dough (if it becomes sticky, add a little more flour). Do not overknead, or it will become tough! Roll out the dough on a floured surface (about 1 cm thick) and cut out circles using a biscuit cutter (or a large glass). Place the circles on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake at 220°C for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Serve with rose petal jelly, fruit spread, or simply butter. For dessert, top with whipped strawberry cream or curd cheese, for example. Tips: This recipe can also be made with lavender blossoms, violets, or natural herbs. If using herbs, omit the sugar and increase the salt slightly.
