Instructions
Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour
Mix the flour and baking powder and sift it onto a baking board. Make a well in the center, add the remaining ingredients (from powdered sugar to 200g butter) one at a time, cover with flour, and quickly knead everything from the center into a smooth dough. Chill for 30 minutes. For the filling, cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually add the remaining ingredients (from custard powder to eggs) while continuing to stir. Divide the dough into two halves. Place the first half of the dough into a greased springform pan (approx. 26cm in diameter). Tear off approximately 1cm pieces of dough, flatten them slightly, and place them one at a time, overlapping them. Press the edges down. Spread the filling evenly over the base of the pan and smooth it down. Tear the second half of the dough over the top. Place the pan in the lower half of the preheated oven. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for approximately 45 minutes. Then, carefully loosen the cooled cake from the baking pan with a thin, sharp knife and remove the springform pan rim. Serve the cake and sprinkle the surface with sugar.
