Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 1 liter broth, strong
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 cloves, whole
- 8 juniper berries
- 12 black peppercorns
- 3 allspice, whole
- 8 pieces of rock candy
- 1 lemon peel, untreated
- 1 cup of cream, sweet
- 2 packs of sauce (light sauce) or sauce thickener
- n. B. rice vinegar
- 3 m.-sized onion(s), cut into fine rings
- 6 pairs of bratwurst, fine, or Vienna sausages unsmoked from the butcher
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Place the spices, from the bay leaves to the lemon zest, in a tea infuser or tea bag. Pour the broth and spices into a large pot. Bring to a boil and simmer gently for about 5 minutes. Remove the spice bag or strain if necessary. Add the onion rings and the sweet cream. Season to taste with vinegar. Thicken the sauce. When the sauce is thick and flavorful, add the sausages and cook until tender; do not boil. Serve with bread rolls. You can also serve it with boiled potatoes, if you like.
