Sausage croissants with fried onions

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 3 Bockwurst OR 3 Regensburger
  • 1 can of dough (fresh dough for croissants, refrigerated shelf 200g/ 6 pieces)
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 10 tsp fried onions
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp condensed milk, OR milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Halve the sausages lengthwise. Remove the dough from the can, unroll, and cut into 6 triangles. Spread with mustard. Sprinkle each with 1 teaspoon of fried onions and top with 1 sausage piece. Roll up from the short side. Place the sausage croissants on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in the oven at 200°C (175°C fan/convection oven) for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Mix the egg yolk and condensed milk. Brush the croissants with this mixture about 5 minutes before the end of the baking time. Sprinkle the remaining fried onions over the croissants and press them down lightly. Serve with coleslaw.
