smart alternative to classic sausage noodles

Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions. Dice the Braunschweiger sausage and bell peppers. Drain the pasta and add it to the same pot (to save on dishes). Add a little oil and roast the Braunschweiger sausage. After about 2-3 minutes, add the bell peppers and roast briefly. Pour in the cream, season, add tomato paste (gives it a nice color), bring to a boil briefly, add the pasta, and stir. Serve with a green salad. It’s a favorite with our kids. FYI: In Austria, a Braunschweiger is a hearty boiled sausage, similar to Jagdwurst (hunting sausage). It’s made with pork, beef, and bacon. It’s also known in Austria as “Dürre” (dry sausage).
