Semolina casserole with pears

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 ml milk
  • 125 g semolina
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 40 g butter
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 can of pear(s)
  • Butter, in flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Bring the milk and salt to a boil, then slowly add the semolina while stirring. Let it swell briefly. Cream the butter until fluffy and stir in the vanilla sugar, baking powder, sugar, and egg yolks. Add everything to the semolina. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold in. Place the pears side by side in a large baking dish and dot with butter. Spread the semolina porridge on top and bake the casserole at 175°C (top and bottom heat) for about 15 minutes.
