Semolina yogurt cake with sugar syrup – Revani

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 6 eggs
  • 200 g sugar
  • 200 g yogurt
  • 200 g rapeseed oil
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 200 g semolina
  • 200 g wheat flour
  • 600 g sugar
  • 700 g water
  • 7 drops of lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

For the batter, beat the eggs and sugar for five minutes until frothy. Add the oil, yogurt, and vanilla sugar and beat for another minute. Then mix in the flour, semolina, and baking powder and beat for another minute. Pour the batter into a baking dish and bake in the oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the syrup. To make the syrup, boil the sugar, water, and a few drops of lemon juice for 15 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the cake from the oven and pour the warm syrup over it. Decorate with desiccated coconut or fresh fruit, if desired.
