Side Dish: Tender Asparagus with Butter Crumbs

The perfect side dish: tender asparagus with butter crumbs recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Fresh asparagus
  • 0,5 tsp Sugar white
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Breadcrumbs
  1. Peel, wash and halve the asparagus. Put the asparagus in a saucepan with water so that the asparagus is covered. Add salt, sugar and a pinch of butter and cook the asparagus for about 25 minutes. Caution: Do not cook too soft!
  2. Then put the asparagus in a sieve and drain well. If you like, you can collect the asparagus stock and use it to prepare a delicious soup.
  3. Put the well drained asparagus in an oblong dish and keep warm. Now melt the butter in a saucepan and add the breadcrumbs and 2 pinches of salt. Brown the crumbs in the butter over low heat.

A notice:

  1. Stir the butter crumbs from time to time so that the crumbs don’t burn!
  2. Pour the browned breadcrumbs over the warm asparagus and serve.
