Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 50 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 egg(s), separated
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • sesame
  • Sunflower seeds

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Combine flour, sugar, butter, egg yolks, baking powder, salt, vanilla, and milk in a bowl and knead into a dough. The dough should no longer stick to the bowl; then it’s ready. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes. Then form the dough into balls, each about 30g in weight. Shape them into pre-rolls. Dip them in the egg whites and then roll them in sesame or sunflower seeds. Place the pre-rolls on a baking tray. When they’re all done, place the tray on the middle rack of the oven and bake the simit for 15 minutes at 160°C (fan oven). Carefully remove and let cool slightly.
