Sour cherry jam with vodka

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 ½ kg morello cherries
  • 1 ¾ kg sugar
  • 5 g citric acid, crystallized
  • 1 bottle of pectin (gelling agent) liquid
  • 150 ml vodka

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Wash the cherries in cold water, remove the stems, and drain. Pit and mince. Place in a saucepan, stir in the sugar and citric acid. Heat gently and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the gelling agent. Bring to a rolling boil and immediately remove from the heat. Add the vodka and mix well. Pour the fruit mixture into screw-top jars and seal.
