Spelled Milk Bread

The perfect spelled milk bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Spelled flour
  • 0,5 dice Yeast fresh
  • 200 ml Milk lukewarm
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • Some flour to knead
  • Some water
  1. Mix flour with salt! Dissolve yeast in milk, stir in honey and oil and add to the flour! Knead everything well! cover and let rise for about 45 minutes! Always use the bread maker for this! 🙂

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees!

  1. Line the baking sheet with baking paper! Knead the proofed dough again on a floured work surface, shape it into an elongated loaf and place it on the baking sheet! Possibly Scratch bread! Otherwise the bread will pop open by itself, if you like a crispy crust!
  2. Put around 4-5 tablespoons of water around the bread. So that the whole bread gets some water all around! The bread rises nicer and gets a super crispy base! 🙂
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes at 250 degrees, then for another 25 minutes at 200 degrees!
  4. 5th bread test: If you knock on the bread base and it sounds hollow, it’s done! 🙂
