Spicy blueberry jam

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg blueberries
  • 1 lemon(s), the juice
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), split
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon, a piece of it
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 pinch of clove powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 kg gelling sugar (1:1)

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 25 minutes

Sweet jam with spices

Rinse the blueberries with cold water and drain well. Mash with a fork or purée briefly. Mix with lemon juice, all spices, and the gelling sugar. Cover and let stand overnight. Then, while stirring, bring to a slow boil and simmer for 4 minutes. Remove the vanilla pod, cinnamon stick, and bay leaves. Pour the jam into prepared jars while still hot and seal immediately. Makes approximately 4-5 jars.
