Spicy tomato sauce

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 bottles of tomato puree (De Cecco Polpa) or 1.3 kg net canned tomatoes or fresh
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 bunch basil, fresh
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp paprika powder (rose pepper)
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, hot
  • 1 pinch(s) Tabasco
  • 1 tsp, heaped herbs, Italian, dried or 2 tsp fresh herbs
  • 1 salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp, levelled sugar
  • 1 m.-large onion(s), red

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

quick, easy, super tasty

Heat the olive oil in a pan or wok. Add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté lightly, but do not allow to brown. Add the balsamic vinegar and heat briefly. Add the polpa and cook for about 10 minutes over medium heat. Add the remaining ingredients. Cook for 10 minutes. Purée thoroughly with a hand blender. Reduce for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Tip: The sauce tastes great even after a short cooking time. You can also simmer it for another 1 to 2 hours over low heat. It will then gain some more flavor.
