Strawberry-basil jam

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 900 g strawberries
  • 50 g basil
  • 40 ml lemon juice
  • 1 packet of gelling sugar 2:1
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

a great, simple and extravagant summer jam with basil, which you can make yourself very quickly

Wash the strawberries and remove the green parts. Then quarter the berries and place them in a large saucepan. Sprinkle with preserving sugar and add a dash of lemon juice. Bring everything to a boil and simmer for 4 minutes. Meanwhile, slice the basil. Stir in the basil 2 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Test for settling. If you like, you can also puree everything. Stir in the balsamic vinegar and pour the jam into boiled jars, sealing them.
