for processing strawberries that do not have much aroma

Whenever we come across a pack of strawberries that tastes rather disappointing—a lot of visual appeal but not much strawberry flavor—we make strawberry compote out of it. This often happens with the first fruits of the season that are still too tart for us or simply not particularly intense in flavor. The idea is simple: compensate for the lack of flavor with sweetness. The quantities above are only approximate. Simply dice the strawberries and place them in a bowl. Then pour in enough milk until most of the strawberries are covered and only a small pile of strawberry pieces remains. Tip: To make the milk a little richer, we add about 4 portions of condensed milk to the milk. It’s not necessary, but tastes very good. Then add 1 to 3 tablespoons of sugar to taste. This depends on the strawberries. Some need more sugar, some less. Then stir. It’s best to let the strawberry compote stand for an hour so the strawberries can release their juices. Stir occasionally. Now you have a fruity, delicious strawberry compote to eat with a spoon. The strawberry milk, created by the sugar and fruit, is for dipping. This way, you’ll never have to be disappointed again when store-bought strawberries don’t taste so great: Simply make a strawberry compote with milk and sugar.
