Stutenkerle or Weckmänner made from quark and oil dough

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 10 tbsp whole milk
  • 10 tbsp oil
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • some lemon peel flavoring or grated lemon peel
  • 475 g flour (please weigh exactly)
  • 1 ½ packets of baking powder
  • some raisins for decoration
  • Grease for the tray
  • n. B. Milk for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

enough for 3 pieces

Using a hand mixer, mix the quark, milk, oil, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, and lemon flavor until smooth. Mix the flour and baking powder and add to the mixture. Stir in with a spatula and finally knead with your hands until smooth. The dough should no longer be sticky! Grease a baking sheet thoroughly. Divide the dough into thirds and form each into a 25 cm long roll. Flatten each roll into an oval and shape the head. Cut into the sides of the arms and legs and shape them. Press the raisins deeply into the rolls for the face and body. Place the Stutenkerl on the baking sheet and brush well with milk (two pieces will fit on one baking sheet, so use two baking sheets). Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C on the middle rack for approx. 10-15 minutes until golden brown. After baking, remove the roll from the baking sheet with a knife, but let it cool on the sheet for approx. 20 minutes. Only then let it cool completely on a wire rack. Tip: If you knead 150g of raisins into the dough, you can also bake 15 small raisin rolls instead of the Stutenkerle. The baking time is then also 15-20 minutes at the same temperature on the middle rack.
