Sweet Quinoa Snack
The perfect sweet quinoa snack recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 Cup Quinoa seeds (white)
- 2 cups Water
- 2 tablespoon Sunflower seeds
- 2 tablespoon Sesame seeds
- 5 tablespoon Honey or organic brown sugar
- Lemon or orange peel (from half a lemon or orange)
- Oil for the baking sheet
- Roasted and ground sesame seeds to sprinkle over *
- Put the quinoa in a colander and rinse with plenty of water. Boil the quinoa over low heat in the 2 cups of water. * In the meantime, lightly toast the sesame seeds and mash them with a mortar. As soon as the quinoa is done, add the lemon or orange peel, the unroasted sesame seeds, the sunflower seeds and the sweetener you have chosen. Mix everything into an even paste. Oil a baking sheet approx. 20 cm x 30 cm or line it with baking paper. Using your hands and a wet spoon, form 6-7 cm rectangles from the mixture as thick as a finger. Put the baking sheet in the oven and bake on medium heat (180 – ° C) for about 40-50 minutes, until the edges are golden brown. Do not remove the snacks from the baking sheet until they have cooled down, otherwise they will crumble easily.
