Tarte Flambée Snails

The perfect tarte flambée snails recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 piece Puff pastry roll
  • 150 g Cream / sour cream 20% fat
  • 50 g Ham cubes
  • 0,5 Onion
  • 100 g Grated cheese
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 Egg
  1. The number of people equals the number of snails.
  1. Season the sour cream with salt and pepper and refine with a dash of lemon juice. Finely chop half the onion.
  1. Roll out the puff pastry and spread it evenly with the shrinkage so that about 1-2cm remain free at the edges. Spread the ham cubes (or alternatively bacon) and the chopped onion on top and finally sprinkle everything with grated cheese.
  1. Roll up the dough from the long side and cut 2-3 cm wide strips with a sharp knife. Place these on a baking sheet or set up (see picture) and brush the dough with the beaten egg. Finally sprinkle the snails with some grated cheese.
