Tarte Flambée Snails
The perfect tarte flambée snails recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 piece Puff pastry roll
- 150 g Cream / sour cream 20% fat
- 50 g Ham cubes
- 0,5 Onion
- 100 g Grated cheese
- Lemon juice
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 Egg
- The number of people equals the number of snails.
- Season the sour cream with salt and pepper and refine with a dash of lemon juice. Finely chop half the onion.
- Roll out the puff pastry and spread it evenly with the shrinkage so that about 1-2cm remain free at the edges. Spread the ham cubes (or alternatively bacon) and the chopped onion on top and finally sprinkle everything with grated cheese.
- Roll up the dough from the long side and cut 2-3 cm wide strips with a sharp knife. Place these on a baking sheet or set up (see picture) and brush the dough with the beaten egg. Finally sprinkle the snails with some grated cheese.
