The Ultimate Hot Chocolate

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 600 ml milk
  • 170 g chocolate (milk)
  • 100 ml cream
  • 10 small marshmallows
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • n. B. Confectionery, (2 Mikado sticks)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

American recipe for hot chocolate with marshmallows

Whip the cream until soft peaks form (not quite stiff, but firm enough to scoop). Gently heat the milk in a saucepan and add the broken chocolate. Melt the chocolate while stirring until smooth. Heat the chocolate milk until just before it boils. Remove the pan from the heat. Place 5 mini marshmallows into each mug and pour the hot chocolate milk over them. Divide the whipped cream between the 2 mugs and dust with a pinch of nutmeg. If you like, you can serve each with a Mikado stick for the initial stirring.
