Tomato chutney – spicy

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g tomatoes
  • 250 g onion(s)
  • 2 chili peppers, fresh
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 carnations
  • 150 ml vinegar (red wine vinegar)
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper, from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

tastes good with fondue and grilled meat

Blanch the tomatoes, rinse, and peel. Quarter and remove the seeds. Then dice. Finely chop the onion, deseed and chop the chilies. Heat the oil in a large pot and fry the onions until translucent. Add the tomatoes, chilies, spices, vinegar, and sugar. Simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes. Allow the finished chutney to cool completely and pour into a screw-top jar.
