Tuna toast

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 slices of toast
  • 1 can tuna in its own juice
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • Pepper from the mill
  • ¼ onion(s), diced
  • 2 slices of cheese (Gouda)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Toast the two slices of toast until crispy. Drain the tuna and mix it with the mayonnaise (I use regular salad mayonnaise), the pepper, and the diced onion until it forms a nice paste. Spread the paste evenly between the two slices of toast and press down lightly. Place a slice of cheese on each slice (or more, if you like) and press down lightly so the toast doesn’t get too high. Place in the oven (about 180-200 degrees) on the middle rack at 150°C for about 10-15 minutes, depending on how brown you like the cheese. I change the time and heat each time, since it doesn’t need to cook any further. Depending on how hungry I am and how much time I have, I set it higher or lower and just pay attention to when the cheese is nicely melted and golden yellow.
