Turkish coffee

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 tsp coffee powder (Turkish coffee)
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • Water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Put the coffee and sugar into the cezve (a small stemmed pot specially made for coffee). Use the cup (should be slightly smaller than an espresso cup) to measure the water and add it. Stir and heat gently over a low heat. The coffee will slowly froth. Pour the foam into the cup and continue heating. As soon as it starts to simmer, pour it slowly into the cup so that the foam doesn’t get lost. The frothier the better. Be sure to serve a glass of water alongside the coffee. Drink a sip of water before the coffee to wash away any previous flavors and to enjoy the coffee. Drink the remaining water after the coffee. Turkish coffee is served sweet, medium-sweet, or sugarless. If someone wants coffee, ask them how they would like it. This recipe is for medium-sweet coffee.
