Tzatziki

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 500 g Greek yogurt (10% fat),
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 cucumber(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Finely press the garlic (maybe twice, since you only want to extract the garlic juice. Garlic freaks can add a bit more). Mix with yogurt, oil, and vinegar and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Peel the cucumber and grate it with a vegetable grater (or cheese grater). If you place the grated cucumber in a clean tea towel and squeeze out the water, the cream won’t be so watery and will taste wonderfully fruity! Mix in the cucumber just before serving! Cover the cream tightly and let it sit in the refrigerator for about 2 hours (the garlic flavor develops). Stir in the cucumber before serving, and you’re done.
