Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 small can of tomatoes, chopped
  • 200 g brown sugar
  • 150 ml vinegar (apple cider vinegar)
  • 200 ml whiskey (Jack Daniels)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • some pepper
  • possibly Tabasco if needed

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 day 21 hours; Total time approx. 1 day 21 hours 10 minutes

Dip for spare ribs, chicken wings or diluted as a marinade

Peel the onion, finely dice it, and fry it in hot oil until translucent. Add the sugar and caramelize it slightly, stirring constantly. Deglaze with apple cider vinegar and whiskey. Add the tomatoes. Reduce heat to low until thickened, stirring occasionally (this takes about 30-40 minutes). Season to taste with salt, pepper, and Tabasco. Tip: If you like, you can also add a little smoky flavor. This sauce is a hit at every barbecue for me.
