Vegan garlic sauce for gyro pita

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g soy yogurt (yogurt alternative) without sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil, extra virgin, organic
  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar
  • ½ tsp agave syrup
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 pinch of chili

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

a bit like Cacik or Tzatziki

Press the garlic into the soy yogurt and mix with the remaining ingredients. This yields about 8 tablespoons of sauce, which is easily enough for 4 medium gyro pitas. I don’t use cucumber in the sauce because it’s too runny for me. Instead, I put the cucumbers in the pitas. If you like, you can add more garlic and salt. There should be enough so that the soybeans are barely noticeable.
