Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 60 g cashew nuts
  • n. B. water
  • 150 g chickpeas, cooked
  • 20 g yeast flakes
  • ½ onion(s)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 50 ml wheat beer, water or soy milk

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Total time approx. 8 hours 10 minutes

Cover the cashews with water and let them soak for 8 hours. Peel the onion and roughly chop one half. Drain the cashews in a sieve and add them to a mixing bowl with the remaining ingredients. Blend all ingredients with a hand blender until smooth and creamy. Pour the cheese cream into a jar and store in the refrigerator. It will keep for up to a week. Like Obatzter, the cheese cream tastes best on pretzel rolls and pretzels sprinkled with chives and radishes or red radish.
