Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 onion(s), chopped
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 clove(s) garlic, crushed
- ½ liter vegetable broth
- 1 tsp yeast extract
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- Salt and pepper, black
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Sauté the onion with the oil in a medium saucepan for 5 minutes, then add the flour and cook for another 5-10 minutes, until the flour and onion are nut-brown and the onion is soft and mushy. Add the garlic and cook for about 1-2 minutes, then gradually stir in the vegetable stock. Bring everything to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain the sauce into a saucepan, add the yeast extract, soy sauce, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly. Makes about 0.5 liters. Serve with the nut roast.
