Waffle heart skewer

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g butter or margarine, soft
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 g wheat flour
  • 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 1 tsp oil
  • e.g. sweets (coloured sugar sprinkles, chocolate drops, love beads, etc.)
  • e.g. sweets (e.g. fizzy bouncy balls, wine gums, etc.)

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

for children’s birthdays, makes 25 pieces

In a mixing bowl, beat the margarine or butter with a hand mixer until smooth. Gradually add the sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt. Beat in each egg on high for about half a minute. Mix and sift the flour with the baking powder and stir in two batches on medium speed. Bake the waffles at medium heat until golden brown and let them cool on a wire rack. Then divide the waffles into individual hearts. Chop the chocolate and melt it with the oil over low heat in a double boiler. Using a brush, brush the chocolate onto the bottom third of each “waffle heart” and decorate the “waffle hearts” decoratively with the sugar sprinkles or chocolate chips. Now, thread the sweets onto a skewer. When the decorated “waffle hearts” are dry, carefully insert a shish kebab skewer into each “waffle heart.”
