juicy and chocolatey waffles with bananas

For the waffle batter, mix the flour with the baking powder and add the salt, sugar, vanilla sugar, melted butter, and eggs. Mix everything thoroughly and gradually add the milk. Let the batter rest for about 1 hour. Meanwhile, chop the chocolate into small pieces. Heat the remaining ingredients for the chocolate sauce in a saucepan until the butter has melted. Remove the pan from the stove and melt the chocolate while stirring. Cook the waffles in batches in the waffle iron for about 4 minutes on medium heat and serve with the lukewarm chocolate sauce, banana slices, whipped cream, and powdered sugar. Tip: The sauce also tastes delicious cold, and you can of course serve strawberries or something similar instead of bananas.
