Waffles with Cinnamon Cherries

The perfect waffles with cinnamon cherries recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Margarine
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 2 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 5 piece Eggs size M
  • 500 g Flour
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 100 ml Liquid cream
  • 300 ml Low fat milk
  • 1 Glass Sour cherries
  • 2 tbsp Food starch
  • 0,5 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar to taste
  • Whipped cream to taste
  • Oil for the waffle iron
  1. Mix the margarine with a hand mixer or a food processor until foamy, add sugar and vanilla sugar and stir well. Gradually add the eggs and make a creamy mixture. Mix the baking powder with the flour and stir both spoonfuls into the dough. Gradually add the cream and milk. Stir until creamy for approx. 2 minutes at the highest level.
  2. Preheat the waffle iron and brush the baking surfaces with oil. Fill in the portion of dough (the amount depends on the device or how thick the waffles should be) and bake until golden brown.
  3. Put the sour cherries in a small saucepan. Remove approx. Four tablespoons of the cherry juice and stir until smooth with the cornstarch. Remainder Bring the cherries to the boil with the juice and season with the cinnamon. As soon as the fruits boil, stir in the prepared juice-starch mixture. Bring to the boil again briefly and set aside.
