Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 8 slices of white bread
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 250 g mixed berries, frozen
- Cinnamon powder
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 6 eggs
- 30 g sugar
- 200 g sweet cream
- 300 ml skimmed milk
- Salt
- 30 g hazelnuts, sliced
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Quarter the white bread slices. Grease a baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and spread half of the white bread slices on the bottom of the dish. Place the berries on the bread slices. Sprinkle with cinnamon powder and vanilla sugar. Arrange the remaining white bread slices on top. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the eggs and sugar in a bowl and beat until frothy. Whisk together the cream and milk and fold into the egg and sugar mixture. Season the glaze with a pinch of salt and spread it evenly over the white bread casserole. Bake the casserole in the middle of the oven for about 30 minutes.
