Ingredients
- 200 g Wholemeal rye flour
- 200 g Flour
- 1 tsp Bread spice mix
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Coarse sea salt
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 Yeast cubes
- 1 Granny Smith apples
- 1 Carrot
- 250 ml Lukewarm water
Instructions
- Dissolve the yeast and sugar in lukewarm water. Mix the flour, rye flour, salt, cinnamon and bread spices.
- Add the flour mixture to the yeast solution and mix everything into a sticky dough.
- Grate the apples and carrots and knead them into the bread dough (it is okay to create irregularities, then the bread will end up being wonderfully juicy).
- Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rest in a warm place for 2 hours.
- Dust the risen dough with a little flour, knead again and place in a loaf pan. Let go for another hour.
- Make a slit through the bread with the knife and brush with milk or water (for a nice crust).
- Bake in a preheated oven at 175 ° C for 40 minutes until golden brown.
- Take it out of the oven and let it cool slightly before cutting it. This bread can also be baked and frozen in advance!
