Advent cake with mulled wine

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 250 g butter
  • 250 g sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 250 ml mulled wine
  • some cocoa powder
  • Cinnamon
  • Spice mix (speculoos spice)
  • 3 tbsp nuts (e.g. hazelnuts), ground
  • 5 tbsp chocolate shavings
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • n. B. mulled wine

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Mix together the butter, sugar, and eggs. Mix the flour and baking powder, then add them to the butter, sugar, and egg mixture along with the mulled wine and mix. The batter should drip thickly from the mixing spoon. Stir in the spices, cocoa powder, and chocolate shavings. Spread the batter onto a deep baking tray (about 5 cm). For small baking trays, you may need to divide the batter between two trays. Bake at 160°C (convection oven) for 15-20 minutes. Mix the powdered sugar glaze with the mulled wine. To do this, put the powdered sugar in a small bowl, gradually add a little of the mulled wine, and mix until the mixture is smooth. Spread a thin layer of the glaze over the finished cake and let it cool.
