Baking: Apple Thalers

The perfect baking: apple thalers recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

the tallow dough

  • 125 g Butter
  • 50 g Dark chocolate
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla sugar, own production
  • 1 piece Egg from Helene
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 200 g Flour type 550
  • 0,5 packet Baking powder
  • 1 handful Dried cranberries
  • 500 g Apple wedges
  • 1 shot Rum

the sprinkles

  • 50 g Butter
  • 4 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoon Flour type 550

the cast

  • 4 tablespoon Powdered sugar
  • 2 cl Rum
  1. Let the butter and chocolate melt. Beat with salt, sugar, vanilla sugar and egg on the highest setting for about 3 minutes.
  2. Add the apple wedges, the finely chopped cranberries, flour and baking powder and stir everything well. Flavor with rum.
  3. Make crumbles from butter, sugar, flour and cinnamon.
  4. Line a tray with baking foil or paper and place a dessert ring (10 cm) on it. Pour in the dough with a tablespoon, press firmly, sprinkle the crumble on top and do the same with the rest of the dough.
  5. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees and bake the thalers (12 pieces) for about 25 minutes with convection. (Stick sample).
  6. Mix the rum with powdered sugar to a glaze and decorate the still hot thalers with it.
